That’s why criminal justice is one of our fastest-growing programs. With a faculty of area leaders in the criminal justice system, we offer a comprehensive approach from behavioral science to ethics, as we tackle the phenomenon of crime.
Upholding criminal justice is critical for a civilized society, and we’re connecting the dots between our current criminal justice system, theories of criminal behavior, law, administration, and policy.
Our core curriculum provides a strong footing in criminological and legal theories, along with research methods in the social sciences. Together, we think outside the box, and look closely at conditions within the system while pursuing opportunities for meaningful change.
As the first and only college in the nation with an undergraduate program in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Criminal Justice students gain an incredible unique perspective on how humans commit this level of violence.
Studying how and why these events happen, you can take your knowledge on to governmental and non-governmental organizations active in the fields of international law, peacekeeping, and world-wide justice.
Why do individuals and groups of people behave the way they do? Studying the interconnected fields of criminal justice and sociology can bring answers to this question and open professional doors in social and human services professions.
You can even enhance this degree with studies in addictions via our public health courses or psychology for a path in counseling professions. We’re all about tailor-made degrees for next-level thinkers.
Strengthen your learning and resume with a strong grounding in legal theories, criminology, and the criminal justice system. With this minor, you’ll understand criminality from psychological, sociological, philosophical, and political perspectives.
Criminal justice jobs include criminologists, who study the anatomy of crime, and financial examiners, who work closely with law enforcement to detect financial fraud. Consider the impact of a judge, magistrate, or hearing officer. Or go a different direction as an FBI specialist working on special task forces. There are also police officers, youth correctional counselors, and crime scene investigators. There are so many possibilities.
