Our faculty members have experience in local, regional, and international environmental affairs. Local partnerships allow students to participate in solving current challenges such as air pollution caused by woodsmoke, ecological restoration of river systems, and climate-change-related issues.

The Ashuelot River watershed, the Monadnock Region, and the Harris Center for Conservation Education provide excellent destinations for field studies, with relatively undisturbed forests and wetlands in close proximity.

Career Opportunities

Environmental science jobs shape outcomes and often define a project’s impact on the environment. Environmental planners and sustainability consultants, for example, determine and ensure a project’s environmental impact and to help businesses meet sustainable environmental standards. Environmental scientists study climate-related issues and develop sustainable solutions.
